Arviel the achipaia wight. She's a little critter that Andel befriends in later years, and often acts as his sort of 'carrier pidgeon'.

Yes, the achipaia are loosely based on an archaeopteryx.

Done in watercolour (with a little bit of acrylic) in a cheapie A5 watercolour pad.

If you're wondering whether or not the scanner butchered it, well, goes without saying, really. I tried to match the brightness of the colours with the original, but this is as close as I could get and it's still no good ):
