I know it's not much. The purpose of this artwork was to experiment with different colour styles & perspectves, as well as getting down an accurate image of Feia's answer to the Tyrannosaur, Agoradontus.
Here a female Agoradontus avoids a male in the early morning mists of a Xanatusan morning.
From the Feian Visual Companion:
A powerful and vicious carnivore, this therapod-like animal closely resembles the Tyrannosaurus. It is characterised by its bold and dark markings, its spiny crest and the assortment of long, cruel spines that run from just above its hip to partway down its tail.
They live primarily in Western Weldora and the Xanatusan Ring, and prey on other large animals and wights. Despite their immediate danger, the Agoradontus is not a particularly widespread animal and is considered to be endangered. It is relatively easy to avoid, as it tends to keep clear of populated areas.
They are, however, highly aggressive and territorial. Zoos require special qualifications and a government security clearance to keep them within the grounds.
Agoradontus partner for life and fiercely defend their young until the juvenile is able to strike out on its own.
Of Feia's equivalent to the dinosaur, very few are still around. The three most well-known of which are the Quetzabaux (seen in The Seven Sigils), the sauropod Mamechadon, and the theropod Agoradontus. All three are considered endangered, and most others ether died out over time, or evolved into wights.
Agoradontus isn't a Feian wight, it's just an animal. And it's a mammal I'm also using a new watermark (The Drannian Star), this one's easy to apply. After all, the only reason I watermark is so that my art can't be used commercially without my permission ^^
That's unique! Haven't seen any of the normal animals of Feia. Well, pre-Wight animals, anyway, but I do like the Wights. I especially like Mardhul (forgets how to spell her name) in TCF.
I'm surprised to read that they're mammals. It's awesome that you include regular animals in with your wights. :3
The mist effect is cool. It really sets the mood, while the upclose leaves and trunk make it feel like you're observing through the branches. Great job~
I really like the perspective and that gritty film noise you can see in the foreground. But the top feels like something is lacking. The bottom draws your eyes into the picture but my vision seems to seep out at the top.
