I once said I'd never take plush commissions again.
....I lied.
It was the concept for this one that made me break my vow to never return to the machine for commissions. wanted to commission this little guy after a bit of fun where someone complained that plush artists were too pricey and used words to the effect of 'wasting money' and 'too much disposable income' to describe those on the buying end.
Well since I already have a bit of a thing for Raichu as it is, when she showed this concept, I fell for it :] And I'm glad I took this one as well -- it was a blast and it came out wonderfully. I thoroughly enjoyed myself.
This is probably one of my best plushies, to be honest :> I was very proud of this one. I was sad to see him go, but I gave him a lift to his flight to Japan knowing that he was going to someone who would adore him :] The size comparison is against my own Banpresto DX Raichu which is 12inches tall.
This plush will not be replicated, both as part of my plush principles and due to that the pattern has already been destroyed.
YES, I will be officially taking plush commissions again. However no sooner had I displayed this 'little' guy that I got slammed with quote requests, so I have adopted a policy of 'one-at-a-time'. That's one active commission at a time, and a waitlist, wherein the next person in the waiting list may move up and take the slot when I choose to clear the last commission from it, even if I finished that commission a month ago. I'm willing to give quotes in the meantime, but please be aware that the waitlist is already pretty long. My commission details are at my LJ - the 'RES' section is the person currently at the top of the waitlist. I may make the occasional rare exception in certain circumstances, but order-of-order will still apply -- first paid, first finished.
I saw this guy when Gin posted about him, and he is so beautiful, you are amazing!
Those who buy commissions often save up for them because it's something they really want, and they appreciate it not just as a plush toy but as a unique, one-of-a-kind piece of art that has a lot of emotional value. I resent those that feel commission buyers are just rich kids with too much to spend, and that those who open for commissions want too much money. I don't think they realize the work and money that goes into making one.
